Curriculum
Each class session we get to learn and play in the best classroom of all... The Outdoors!
Each season of classes focuses in on supporting development of important skills such as creativity, persistence, sensory, focus, wellness, problem solving and more. There is no better place than the outdoors to support our kids in developing strong bodies and minds!
This fall season our focus skill is... FOCUS! We'll learn how we can support our children in growing their ability to direct, sustain, and shift their focus. Each class we'll encourage the types of movement and play in our outdoor classroom that are the building blocks of this development. We'll practice how to feel present in the moment; how to zoom in and zoom out; how to wonder; and how to follow our interests. All through PLAY!
What is Class Day Like?

Nature is our classroom! Every lesson connects us to the natural world where creatures are our teachers, and mud and sticks our tools.
Class rhythm:
- Welcome and transition
- Opening Circle
- Guided Play
- Closing Circle
In each class, explorers will be offered a variety of invitations to play, and they are invited to play however suits them best! Research shows that we can support our children's development best when we let them lead the way in play, and in being outdoors! Through these mixed aged outdoors classes children will find much inspiration to play, imagine and wonder, and we see this inspiration going home with children each week to further inspire creative play at home!
These classes are designed to have a parent or guardian accompany the enrolled child/children. During class not only do our children get to learn, but as adults we are also always learning alongside them! As the accompanying Guide you'll learn ways to support your child's development during these oh so important early years, and how you can easily and simply support learning beyond our class time. We have moms, dads, grandparents, nannies, family and friends who have filled this "Guide" role in our classes and it is part of what builds connection and community that reaches beyond our class time together!
